Our Story
LAYAM is a heartfelt initiative inspired by the courageous journey of Layam, a child who battled Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 2 — a rare but treatable genetic disorder that weakens muscles and makes everyday activities like sitting, standing, and even breathing extremely difficult.
Layam urgently needed Zolgensma, a one-time gene therapy costing ₹9 Crores. With the support of compassionate donors and the dedicated efforts of CARE NGO, the required funds were successfully raised, and Layam received the treatment. Today, he is healthy and moving towards a brighter future.
Inspired by this success story, CARE NGO has launched Project LAYAM — an initiative dedicated to supporting children below the age of 12 who are suffering from treatable heart-related medical conditions and hearing impairments. Through awareness campaigns, fundraising, and community support, Project LAYAM aims to give every child the chance to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life.
Because every child deserves hope, healing, and a future.
